MCR House Project - Cohort 2 Logo!
Posted 4th February 2022
Cohort 2 has been working hard designing a logo for Manchester House Project over the past few months!
The logo design process used an iterative approach, which took several steps: co-producing each step of the way with the young person and allowing them to take Ownership of the process. The end result was great, and really emphasises the commitment to community, diversity and openness that all of us try to bring to The House Project each day.
As you can see from the causal chain in the image, getting to the point of having a fully fledged logo was a bit of a journey, something which all of the young people committed to really well!
We also in the beginning stages of working out ways of producing hoodies - with the logo design on the causal chain - to give to the young people in Cohort 2 in order to help build our MCR House Project Community. We are looking for partners to help produce these - please get in touch if you think your organisation could help!

Celebrating Success at the Frontline Awards
In May, we were proud to attend the Frontline Awards to celebrate Coventry City Council’s Pathways service winning the Multi-Agency Partnership of the Year award. Funded by the Rayne Foundation, the Pathways programme brings together a number of organisations, including NHP, Coram Voice and The Rees Foundation, working closely alongside the Throughcare Service, Coventry House Project and Lifelong Links. Together, the partnership supports young people leaving care to develop skills, build positive relationships, and focus on their emotional health and wellbeing. Three cohorts of young people from Coventry have now go through the Pathways Programme. Seeing the partnership recognised nationally was a fantastic moment and a powerful reflection of the impact collaborative working can have in supporting care-experienced young people.

In May, the Aspirational Awards panel awarded just over £15,000 to 19 young people across our LHPs. It was inspiring to see such a wide range of ideas, goals and determination reflected in the applications, and a privilege to support more young people as they take their next steps forward. Funding in Round 9 supported training + graduate employment scheme, equipment for a baking business and support for other businesses, sports sessions, music lessons, lifeguard course, and day trips. We have also recently completed a 3 year review of our Aspirational Awards and the impact they’ve had. Over the past 3 years, we’ve awarded over £147,000 to 138 young people (not including figures from our most recent round in May). If you would like to find out more about how to support the Aspirational Awards please get in touch.
