Lewis's brand new home

Lewis's brand new home

Posted 20th February 2023

Rachelann (Project Lead for Manchester and Trafford) came out to see Lewis as he was given his new set of keys today for his flat. Lewis is very excited and explores the flat and works out all its hidden treasures. Adi his facilitator worked with him to get him all signed up with his utilities and went through the different aspects of his tenancy.
Lewis has worked really hard in having a vision for his flat and discussed with Rachelann and Adi all the things he wanted and when he wanted them. The House Project team worked with him to be realistic in some elements but were really amazed by the enthusiasm and commitment from Lewis to get the flat to his very high standards. Over the past week or so the team have been checking in on Lewis and supporting him get the flat where he wants it to be. Adi has been applying for grants and other provisions / charities to get brand new essential and white good items.
The next time Rachelann came round she came prepared with crocs and ladders and her expertise to support Lewis with the small jobs he needed doing in the property. Rachelann helped him to put up curtain rails, free hand decorating to make sure them edges were perfect and overall support. Lewis laughed that he hanged the curtain rail a bit wrong, but Rachelann explained that this is part of the process, and every step is helping you to learn and grow and be that even more independent than before.
The House Project Team are so happy for Lewis that he is finally in his own property. Well Done, Lewis, officially a new homeowner!!
