✨Care Leavers National Movement Conference 2025 – A Day of Inspiration and Connection✨
The Manchester, Bury and Trafford team, along with some of our young people attended the annual Care Leavers National Movement (CLNM) Conference, held at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester Piccadilly.
This year’s theme, Interdependence, set the tone for a day filled with collaboration, creativity, and celebration.
In the lead-up to the conference, our team has been exploring the concept of interdependence in our group sessions – not only because it was the theme of the event, but because it’s one of the core principles of the House Project framework. This gave us a deeper understanding and made the day even more meaningful.
The event brought together young people, colleagues, and partners of the House Project from across the UK. What made this conference truly special was that it was organised and co-ordinated by young people themselves – showcasing their leadership, organisational skills, and commitment to making a difference.
The day was packed with exciting activities:
  • Stalls from local House Projects across the country, each highlighting their unique work and achievements
  • Games, activities, and prizes that created a fun and engaging atmosphere
  • Inspiring speeches from guest speakers and CLNM representatives, who shared their personal journeys, the opportunities they’ve embraced, and the incredible growth they’ve experienced through the programme
  • Stories of success through Aspirational Awards, demonstrating how funding has helped young people achieve their goals and dreams, it was truly inspiring to hear some of the things the young people have achieved and experienced.
We are especially proud as the Manchester, Bury, and Trafford team, we worked hard to create a fantastic stall and were awarded SECOND PLACE for Best Stall! This recognition reflects the creativity, teamwork, and passion of our staff and young people.
The conference was not only a celebration of achievements but also a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when we work together and support each other. It was an inspiring day that reinforced the importance of interdependence and the strength of the House Project community.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a success – and most importantly, to the young people who led the way. Your voices, ideas, and energy are shaping the future.
Together, we are building stronger communities and empowering care leavers to thrive.
